The Chester Town Court has jurisdiction over a broad range of matters including criminal matters, traffic & motor vehicle violations, conservation law, small claims and landlord/tenant matters.

8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Court Hours:

Criminal Court is in session every Tuesday at 10:00am. The Warren County District Attorney is present to prosecute all criminal and traffic matters. An appointment is needed.

Traffic Court is scheduled every 1st, 3rd and 5th Tuesday evening at 7:00pm (No District Attorney present).

All mail-in payments should be made by certified check or money order (no personal checks are accepted).

Traffic Tickets:

A Plea of GUILTY: a fine and surcharge will be assessed by the Judge. A plea of guilty is equivalent to a conviction after trial. Conviction may subject you to a mandatory surcharge and/or Driver Responsibility Assessment as prescribed by law.

Plea of NOT GUILTY: You will be scheduled to appear for an in-person Pre-trial Conference. Failure to appear may result in a suspension of your driving privileges.

If attending court is a hardship, the defendant can contact the Prosecutor and request a reduction via email. Please view the Warren County District Attorney’s website for additional information. Please contact the court for an adjournment as it can take up to 8 weeks to receive a reduction.
