TOWN OF CHESTER TOWN BOARD MINUTES

NOVEMBER 29, 2007

Special meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Chester was held November 29, 2007 at 7:30 pm in the Town of Chester Municipal Center Chestertown, NY.

Roll Call: Fred Monroe, Edna Wells and Karen DuRose.

Others in attendance: Jamie Dunkley - CSEA Town rep; Retirees: Fletcher Conlon, Frank Allard, Beecher LaPrairie, and Ed Sabal (Ed left early).

Bill Martin - from Jaeger & Flynn Associates.

Purpose of the Special meeting was to review an “alternate health insurance plan for retirees.”

Mr.Martin reviewed the plan (Traditional Blue Medicare PPO Retirees - 799 Standard) for the retirees and the Town Board. Mr.Martin explained that the HRA (out of pocket expenses not covered - glasses, over the counter drugs, etc.) could be carried over to the following year, if the amount was not used.

Monthly premium is approximately $193.50 and a minimum of 5 retirees are needed to sign up. Other retirees that would be eligible Norine Shaw, Lois Hill, Bunky Baker, Jim Frasier, and any spouses that are over 65.

Beecher, Fletch and Frankie felt that it was a good plan for them. Supervisor Monroe and Jamie will check with the Bargaining Unit to see if they will accept the plan for the retirees and also have it put in writing for future insurance negotiation the term “as good as or better than.”

An enrollment time will be set for sometime in December, if this plan is accepted.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:30pm.
